Pieces have hit points and take several hits to capture.
How to play
Every piece has hit points: pawns 1, knights and bishops 2, rooks and queens 3, kings 5 (promoted queens 3).
Moving onto an enemy piece hits it for 1 damage; your attacker stays where it is unless the hit brings the target to 0 HP, in which case the target is captured and the attacker moves in as normal.
Kings can take hits, but a king down to its last HP that an enemy piece could hit is in check, and you may never leave your own king in check. Win by checkmate. A side with no legal moves while not in check also loses. No castling or en passant.
You play White against the bot. Tap a piece, then tap a highlighted square.
