Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 November 2026

These terms apply to your use of ParadoxChess (the "Service"), run by Pierre MIYAMOTO ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

ParadoxChess is a free collection of chess games and variants that you play in your browser. You can play against bots, and online against other players. We may add, change or remove games and features at any time, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to sign in or play online. You can play as a guest or sign in with Google. You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your device and Google account secure.

3. Fair play and conduct

You agree not to:

We may reset ratings, remove names, hide players from the leaderboard, or suspend or ban accounts that break these rules. We can do this at our discretion and without notice.

4. Your content

Your display name and your game moves are your content. You give us a worldwide, free licence to store and display them so the Service can work. This includes showing them in game histories, stats and leaderboards, and continuing to show past games after you leave.

5. Our content

The Service, including its code, design and game modes, belongs to us or our licensors. Except where a licence below allows it, you may not copy or redistribute the Service.

Third-party material:

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided free and "as is", without warranties of any kind. Ratings, stats and saved progress may be lost, reset or wrong, and we don't guarantee that they will be kept.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or progress, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to USD $50. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date above. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
